Pakistan to Award Three 3g Licenses in 2007

As quoted from TeleGeography I quote

" Pakistan will issue three 3G licences by the end of this year, a government official has been quoted by Reuters as saying. ’We are working on the plan, and 3G spectrum would be allocated to three companies for launching 3G mobile phone services in Pakistan,’ said a PTA official, who declined to be identified. ‘The 3G licences are expected to be issued by the end of this year and will be offered only to existing mobile phone operators for a period of 15 years. "

However today I read in Jang that the Mobile companies in Pakistan say that Pakistan is not ready for 3 G Let's see what happens , atleast Telenor is now making full use of their EDGE through their mobile TV service
